Dr. Nichole Wood-Barcalow received her bachelor's, master's and doctorate in psychology from The Ohio State University. She completed a one-year, pre-doctoral internship at the University of Pittsburgh's counseling center with a concentration in eating disorders. Her clinical and research interests include eating disorders, body image, women's issues and grief/loss. She is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders, the American Psychological Association and the Oklahoma Psychological Association.
Dr. Wood-Barcalow joined the Laureate Eating Disorders Program in 2006, and she currently serves as a psychologist in the adolescent eating disorders program. She has specialized training in family-based treatment (also referred to as the Maudsley Method), which emphasizes educating and empowering parents to serve as an integral resource in the treatment of their adolescent daughter/son struggling with anorexia nervosa.
