National Eating Disorders Awareness Week - Laureate Eating Disorders Program

This year's National Eating Disorders Awareness (NEDA) Week is slated for February 24 through March 2, 2013. This year’s theme, "Everybody Knows Somebody," was chosen because awareness of eating disorders is certainly spreading.

In honor of NEDA Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital’s eating disorders program will host an evening of awareness, inspiration and hope.
Tuesday, February 26, 2013 ● 7:00 p.m.
Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital Conference Center
6655 South Yale Avenue, Tulsa, OK 74136

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 800-322-5713 or 918-491-3702.

The aim of NEDA Week is to ultimately prevent eating disorders and body image issues, while reducing the stigma surrounding eating disorders and improving access to treatment. Eating disorders are serious, life-threatening illnesses - not choices - and it's important to recognize the pressures, attitudes and behaviors that shape the disorder.

Last year, NEDA Week registrants spanned all 50 states and 30 other countries. We hope to have another record-breaking year in 2013, and have everyone commit to doing just one thing! NEDA asks everyone to do just one thing to help raise awareness and provide accurate information about eating disorders.
