Saint Francis Hospital uses Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC) to continually measure our patient satisfaction performance. Using an independent national consultant allows us to obtain an unbiased, statistically valid look at how we are doing from the patient's point of view.

How does the process work? PRC selects a random sample of our discharged patients each week, and contacts them by telephone regarding the care they received while at our facility. PRC conducts similar surveys for patients at Saint Francis Hospital South and Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital.

As the surveys are completed, PRC calculates the percent of our patients rating our services as 'Excellent' on various aspects of care. They then compare our 'Excellent' scores to those of other PRC client hospitals around the nation. This helps us see how we are doing compared to other facilities offering similar services. We monitor these results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for each of our units of service. Each month we present these results to hospital staff and management in order to help direct efforts to continually improve the patient experience at Saint Francis Hospital.
