Primary Care 2

In medicine, primary care is a term used for a healthcare provider who acts as the primary point of consultation for patients when illnesses or injuries arise. Generally, primary care physicians are based in office settings as opposed to the hospital.

A primary care physician, or PCP, is a physician who generally does not specialize in the treatment of certain organ systems, such as neurology, cardiology or pulmonology, but are trained in more general types of patient care. The most common types of PCPs are those in family medicine, general practice, pediatrics and internal medicine.

Saint Francis Health System offers a wide array of primary care physicians throughout northeast Oklahoma.
