Ronald McDonald House

It's nice to know someone has left the light on. It's especially nice to know someone cares.

When your child is facing a life-threatening situation such as cancer, stroke or trauma, the Ronald McDonald House is there to help ease your load. While tremendous advances have been made in treatment, your financial and emotional burdens remain. The Ronald McDonald House was established to help ease some of these burdens.

The Ronald McDonald House in Tulsa is located at 6102 S. Hudson, just blocks from The Children's Hospital on the Saint Francis campus. It is a home-away-from-home where families can stay while their child is being treated at The Children's Hospital. Although priority is given to families of infants and children, the Ronald McDonald House has also served many families of adult patients.

Because The Children's Hospital is a regional facility, many of our patients come from other towns. This creates more stress for families who must also contend with staying at expensive hotel rooms in unfamiliar surroundings. The Ronald McDonald House is a home for these families. It is a place where they can have a respite from the hospital, but also be available at a moment's notice -- or a place where those children being treated as outpatients can live with their family. It is also a place where families who are going through the same experiences can share their fears and concerns and basically function as a support system.
