Laboratory Services
Saint Francis Health System Laboratory Services play a vital role in a patient’s treatment team. Laboratory Services encompass all disciplines of clinical and anatomic laboratory medicine. The department supports diagnosis and treatment of inpatients, outpatients, and patients referred from other hospitals or laboratory client accounts.
The laboratory is staffed 24 hours/day, seven days/week by certified laboratory professionals. One third of staff members have specialty certifications or master’s degrees in their area of expertise.
Testing is performed continuously 24 hours a day within the hospital setting with results available electronically upon completion to physicians and clinical staff. Physicians may order multiple sets of laboratory testing to determine the proper course of treatment.
A number of Saint Francis Outpatient Laboratory sites are available throughout the city. Many are located within close proximity to Warren Clinic physician offices. Physicians may ask patients to visit one of these sites for certain lab tests that will help diagnose or determine treatment options. Reports for patients visiting one of the outpatient lab locations are faxed or delivered to the patient’s physician office.
A physicians order is required for laboratory testing.
