It is estimated that each of us will likely need at least one rehabilitation service within our lifetime. Although it is difficult to contemplate having an injury that would require rehabilitation to recover use or mobility, selecting qualified rehabilitation professionals is an important factor in this process.
Saint Francis Health System rehabilitation services (also known as physical medicine) are provided in a variety of settings:
Inpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy are available to patients of Saint Francis Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital at Broken Arrow. These services are ordered by the patient’s hospital physician and are to be completed while the patient is in the hospital.
Saint Francis Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation
The staff of the Saint Francis Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation center is trained in many specialty areas. The facility utilizes a team approach in which the patient is the integral component, working with each individual to transition to the community or back to everyday life where they can continue to enjoy improved function and health.
Therapists in the Saint Francis Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation center are trained to evaluate and treat conditions such as arthritis, chronic pain, orthopedic conditions, spine disorders and neurological conditions.
Therapists will provide recommendations for needed equipment to enhance independence. Outpatient Rehabilitation staff perform wheelchair evaluations and orthotic recommendations working together with the patient, physician and provider.

Saint Francis Broken Arrow Rehabilitation
Inpatient services:
For patients who require an intense level of medical attention, inpatient rehabilitation is provided through Saint Francis Broken Arrow Rehabilitation – a specialized unit housed within Saint Francis Hospital. Inpatient rehabilitation provides three hours or more of therapy a day, based on individual needs. The intensity of services may increase or decrease during the duration of a patient’s stay.
The rehabilitation team is led by a physiatrist, a physician whose specialty is physical medicine and rehabilitation and includes the nurses, therapists, social worker, case manager and psychologist assigned to each patient.

Broken Arrow Rehabilitation is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Patients with debilitative illnesses, musculoskeletal injuries or medical conditions that interrupt daily activities may benefit from services offered through Saint Francis Broken Arrow Rehabilitation outpatient center, housed within Saint Francis Hospital at Broken Arrow. Outpatient services address aspects of pain management, treating both acute and chronic pain, problems with dizziness or balance, and programs to enhance strength and endurance. Driving assessments are also available through outpatient services.
All services are ordered by a physician and are specifically designed to meet each patient’s needs. Our staff of professionals carefully evaluates patient needs and communicates with the referring physician about the evaluation, treatment plan and outcomes. Licensed and certified physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists and psychologists are available to implement care.
