All volunteers receive orientation and on-the-job training by an experienced volunteer or staff member. Laureate volunteers are dedicated to implementing the mission and vision statements of the hospital through compassion, caring and community involvement. Laureate volunteer services include:
- Front Desk — Outpatient Clinic
Our front desk volunteers greet patients and visitors and direct them to the proper waiting and admission areas as well as assist staff as needed.
- Inpatient Units
Volunteers in the inpatient units plan and lead patients in various activities such as arts and crafts, games, puzzles, reading, music or other fun activities. Volunteers in the inpatient units will receive special training and generally work Monday through Friday, mornings or afternoons.
- Family Week — Eating Disorders Program
Volunteers are needed to assist staff with set up, serving and clean up.
- Visitor Check-In
Volunteers are needed to check in visitors for our patients in the adult inpatient units. Visitor check-in volunteers may work during the week or on weekends.
Every effort is made to match the time and talents of a volunteer to the needs of patients, families and staff. Volunteers also raise money for projects and donations to Laureate throughout the year.
