Saint Francis Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship

Our Mission

The OSU - Saint Francis Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship is a one-year program designed to develop orthopedic trauma surgeons who are not only skilled clinicians and educators, but also leaders who will advance the specialty and strengthen the orthopedic community. Our fellowship combines exceptional clinical experience with a strong academic foundation, preparing graduates to deliver compassionate, evidence-based and innovative care to the injured patient.

Mission: Our mission is to extend the healing ministry of Christ by training future leaders in orthopedic trauma.

Vision: Our vision is to be nationally recognized as a premier orthopedic trauma fellowship, known for producing compassionate, skilled and innovative leaders who advance patient care and the orthopedic community.

About The Program

The Saint Francis Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship was established in 2010: a blue collar fellowship that focused on the clinical experience associated with the treatment of orthopedic trauma. Since that time, it has evolved into a top-tier university-based Level I orthopedic trauma experience at the nation's 11th largest hospital with five diversely trained orthopedic traumatologists and an ancillary staff including advance practice providers, orthopedic residents, orthopedic hospitalist service and a research fellow.

The OSU - Saint Francis Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship is guided by a clear set of goals that reflect our commitment to our fellows and our patients:

  • Faith: Extending the healing ministry of Christ in all we do
  • Excellence: Striving for the highest standards in education, research and patient care
  • Compassion: Serving patients and families with empathy, dignity and respect
  • Scholarship: Advancing orthopedic knowledge through research, teaching and innovation
