Keeping Up with School

We understand how important continuing the education process is for patients and families who are considering a higher level of care.

We Make Keeping Up Easy

Our dedicated education coordinator works tirelessly on behalf of patients and families to coordinate patients’ continued educational progress through their home school districts. She serves as a liaison among the student, family, home school and Laureate; to ensure instructional success. Accredited online schools are also an option for students from some states.

Schooling Schedule

Patients attend class for two hours each weekday, during which time they complete assignments from their home school. Oversight and direction are provided by our education coordinator. Additional time for school projects is also available on weekends.

Computer Usage for School

Students are allowed to use personal laptops during class time for completion of schoolwork and may receive permission to use the computer in the evenings during free time for study or academic purposes only. All computer time is supervised.

Benefits of Keeping Up

One of the reasons Laureate places such importance on continued schooling during treatment is that it helps pave the way for a kinder re-entry into school following discharge from our program. Not having to make up weeks’ worth of coursework is one less thing for our patients to worry about when they return home.
